Pre-Owned Furniture Disclaimer

Before purchasing a Vintage/Antique item please make sure you have read the listing carefully, please keep in mind before purchasing that age appropriate wear is part of buying vintage and antiques and this is a disclaimer that you are buying used items that may have wear and/or flaws which the pictures cannot depict, they are sold 'as is', 'with flaws' and are not new.

Antique & Vintage items may have developed their own historical marks, bumps, scrapes, stains, minor damage, old signs of woodworm & general appearance of age and character that you would associate with this type of furniture, therefore items will not be accepted as faulty or returnable and 'are fit for purpose'. The purchaser hereby acknowledges this, and all goods are purchased by the purchaser "as is" and "with all faults".


To save disappointment, we strongly recommend for you to closely inspect item photos, descriptions, and details in particular measurements before purchasing anything. We do try our best to describe any major details, if you’re unsure about items condition, dimensions, quality, or description please contact us.


All the vintage and antique items we sell are sympathetically repaired where necessary i.e. feet, minor repairs to missing parts using appropriate reclaimed or new materials. Items may show signs of historical marks or woodworm, they are all sold fit for good usable purpose. Any major defects will be noted in the description but obviously, we cannot state every minor flaw/detail.

 
We describe all items to the best of our knowledge & ability and all items are sold as seen, more photos or report can be given on request before purchasing online. As with all painted and wooden furniture, colour and pattern variation may occur on the website due to screen differences and is out of our control, Te Omanga Hospice are not liable for any colour variations or differences, a refund will not be given for this reason.


As with most antique/vintage items may show signs of old/extinct woodworm activity, we treat as precaution where necessary but it's impossible to be sure that everything is 100% woodworm free & cannot guarantee. Obviously, we do not knowingly purchase furniture that has woodworm. The wood boring beetle or common furniture beetle can be relatively common in antique and vintage furniture and the timber in period homes. Therefore, Te Omanga Hospice cannot be held responsible for evidence or activity of woodworm or common furniture beetle and any damaged caused to the furniture supplied or to surrounding furniture or building materials.


Furniture that has been purchased and placed in the home that may shows signs of movement due to central heating i.e. slight shrinkage, slight splitting, Te Omanga Hospice will not be held responsible for something out of our control, and a refund will not be accepted. We will do our upmost to help where we can.


The customer acknowledges that items may be dangerous if improperly used. Te Omanga Hospice is in no way liable for the purpose and fitment of goods supplied to the buyer. We have no control over the fitment, misuse, suitability and method of their application or use of the item. Save as precluded by law, we exclude any condition or warranty as to the fitment/placement of its goods or for any indirect or consequential loss, damage or expenses.

 

We hand wrap all items prior to shipping for safe delivery, we inspect the item beforehand, and photos are taken before and after wrapping, Outside of the Wellington Region, we can help arrange delivery as part of a service but the delivery is a contract between the "purchaser" and "courier" and STRICTLY THE RESPONSIBILITY between the buyer and courier after it has been collected from us. All delivery costs outbound & returns are met by the customer unless arrive faulty, Te Omanga Hospice are not affiliated to any couriers and not liable for any damages occurred in transit or moving item in your home. The courier has there own insurance for damages, we will help where we can to rectify problems. Te Omanga Hospice is not liable for any damages or loss sustained in transit via third parties.

All items need to be checked for any damages on arrival, please notify the couriers. If the item has not been checked on arrival you will be liable for any damages once the item has been delivered.

 

It's the buyers responsibility to check all ease of access, door way measurements, angles and stairs, the buyer may not return an item for "inaccurate listing” reason when its dimensions or other characteristics do not fit its requirements. * PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK DIMENSION OF ITEMS AND ACCESS*


Once the item has been delivered and checked, the item is the customers responsibility, the customer is liable for any signs of misuse, fitment or damages after this period, no refunds will be given.

Shipping & Delivery

HOMEWARES:

We currently offer domestic shipping (tracked) within New Zealand at a standard rate of $10 (1-6 small items). For 7 and more items and larger garments, domestic tracked shipping is $14.

Also, you can pick up your order from Lower Hutt Te Omanga Hospice Shop free of charge: 

217 High Street, Hutt Central, Lower Hutt, 5010.

BRAND NEW FURNITURE:

  • Delivery within Wellington area $80.00 

  • Delivery outside Wellington $260 per item.

  • If you’re in the Wellington area you can pick up your order from our Petone Hospice Warehouse free of charge:
    476 Jackson Street, Petone, 5012 Building 19.

Please contact us for confirmation before coming to pick up your order.

PRE-OWNED FURNITURE:

  • Delivery only within Wellington area $80.00  

  • Delivery to Plimmerton and Wairarapa $120.00

  • Delivery outside Wellington: we will deliver within the Wellington region but up to the customer to arrange outside of that.

PLEASE NOTE

  • Orders placed on weekdays before 11am will begin processing same day, however orders that fall after 11am we will begin processing straight away but may not get picked up by our delivery drivers. Orders placed on Friday after 11 am NZT will begin processing the following Monday.

  • Please allow couriers allow 2-5 days for delivery. (Please note that delays in courier times are out of our control. Estimated delivery times are to be used as a guide)

  • Deliveries take place Monday to Friday. Once the courier has picked up your order from a Te Omanga Hospice store, you'll be emailed a tracking number so that you can follow the journey of your parcel.

  • Large - heavy or delicate items may incur an additional cost, this cost is noted in the description field.

  • Unfortunately we currently don't offer international shipping.

Unfortunately, we do not accept returns on any items sold online

Every effort is made to ensure an item is listed is in the condition stated, however occasionally there might be an item that slips through our rigorous inspection.

Every effort has been made to ensure that the colours of our products that appear on the Website are as accurate as possible. However, because the actual colours you see when using the Website depend on the monitor or display interface you are using, we cannot guarantee that the colours you see will be a completely accurate representation actual products or packaging.
